About this event
WORKSHOP Details:
For Kindergarten to Year 7 Students
Give your child a meaningful, hands-on STEM experience these school holidays! Our Autumn Holiday Camp helps students learn by building, coding, and experimenting — all while having fun in a supportive classroom environment.
🛠️ What Happens in the Classroom
🔧 Engineering & Mechanical Concepts
Students explore real-world engineering principles through hands-on builds, including:
Gears, axles, pulleys, and belt transmission systems
Understanding motion, speed, and force
Applying basic maths such as counting rotations, ratios, and measurements
Solving challenges using brick-based construction
🤖 Robotics & Smart Technology
Students will:
Build and control robots using LEGO® WeDo kits
Use smart hubs, motors, and sensors to bring models to life
Learn how hardware and software work together
Test, modify, and improve designs through guided challenges
💻 Coding & Programming
For all students (K–7):
Visual programming using WeDo coding
Logical thinking, sequencing, and debugging
Connecting code to physical movement using motors and smart hubs
For Years 4–7:
Introduction to Scratch & Arduino coding
Understanding inputs, outputs, and basic electronics
Writing simple programs to control hardware
Building confidence in real-world programming concepts
🎯 Learning Outcomes
By the end of the camp, students will:
Understand core engineering and mechanical principles
Gain confidence in coding and robotics
Apply mathematical thinking in practical situations
Improve problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork
Experience the satisfaction of building and programming working projects
